Christine Ginter, singer, songwriter and teacher, is propelling her vision to educate and inspire youth through the recent inception of "Inspiring Youth For Success".
Currently authoring her first book "Yesterday, Today and Forever", Christine's desire is to appraise Aboriginal youth about their heritage and their potential by amassing a collection of inspiring success stories from Aboriginal people throughout Canada. Some of the individuals interviewed include Gordon Tootoosis, Donny Parenteau, Andrea Menard, Michael Linklater, Kendal Netmaker, Michelle Thrush, Richard Pilon, and more.
In addition, Christine's passion for music has resulted in the writing and composing of her first recorded album entitled "Made For More" and has collaborated with various Aboriginal and non Aboriginal artists from around the country to create this music project. The genre is Pop and each song contains a positive message.
Christine received her Bachelor of Education with Honours in 2010 through SUNTEP and is now teaching Home Economics and Native Studies in the Public, Catholic, and Prairie Spirit school systems. She volunteers as a music leader at her church and is happily married to her husband of 5 years, Ryan. But it was the struggles of her past that have prepared her for this project. Christine was raised in a single parent home and has faced difficult seasons of poverty. Leaving home at just 15 years old, Christine withstood years of drug and alcohol abuse and grappling with depression. Sometimes working 4 jobs at a time just to survive, Christine also found herself struggling with her identity as a Metis person. It wasn't until she entered university where she was educated about her history and culture that she was able to reconcile herself with her heritage. Now fueled by her passion for music and youth, Christine hopes to instill a hope and confidence to this younger generation and generations to come. All proceeds from sales of both the book and the album will be put back into the organization to help create and fund opportunities for youth "at-risk".
Christine's husband Ryan Ginter and her brother Curtis Vinish are also current team members for Inspiring Youth For Success.
